Luke Walton has just been announced as the LA Lakers new head coach.
Walton spent nine seasons with the Lakers, winning two championship rings as a smart, steady contributor. Three years after his retirement, the 36-year-old Southern California native is back to become the 26th head coach in franchise history.

He posted a 39-4 Start with the Golden State Warriors, including a 24-0 start as the Warriors interim head coach while Steve Kerr was out with a back injury.

Now placed into the limelight with the Young core consisting of Jordan Clarkson, Julius Randle and D'angelo Russel he is in place to cement his legacy if he can take this team from bottom feeders to playoff contenders and eventually NBA champions.

How do you think he will do his first year?
Will he develop this team into contenders?
Can he take them to a championship?

Chronicles Of The Void Century: The One Piece & The Mystery Of The Grand Line

Hi i guys i am here today with another theory about one piece its inspiration and its use and why roger disbanded his crew and mystery of Grandline

before starting please put on some music this is bit long

Now back to the point according a interview of oda in July 22, 2014 with the author of the series

“Chibi Maruko-chan” -Momoko Sakura
Oda: Yes, I already decided on how it’s going to end. Should I tell you now?
Sakura: …. Well, I want to know, but I probably shouldn’t. BUT, the One Piece, it’s not something like “the growth your heart went through”, right?
Oda: Hahaha, no no, I won’t be pulling off some kind of Wizard of Oz thing like that. After having gone through an adventure like that, it wouldn’t be fair to not actually give them a reward.
So I guess now we can all rest assured that the One Piece ISN’T “a dream”, or “the bonds created among the straw hat crew” etc.
now oda has use many mythology and story from various culture to incorporate in one piece considering that i thought might have use some japanese myth for the real deal one piece
and i found this

Tide Jewels kanju manju

İmage

Tide jewels
In Japanese mythology, the tide jewels-- individually, the kanju (干珠, lit. "(tide-)ebbing jewel") and manju (満珠, lit. "(tide-)flowing jewel")-- were magical gems that the Sea God used to control the tides. Classical Japanese history texts record an ancient myth that the ocean kami Watatsumi 海神 "sea god" or Ryūjin 龍神 "dragon god" presented the kanju and manju to his demigod son-in-law Hoori, and a later legend that Empress Jingū used the tide jewels to conquer Korea.
Tide jewels interrelate Japanese dragons and wani sea-monsters, Indonesian mythology, the nyoi-ju 如意珠 "cintamani; wish-fulfilling jewel" in Japanese Buddhism, magic jewels of Nāga kings in Hindu mythology, and the pearl associations of Chinese dragons in Chinese mythology

Terminology
The Japanese compounds kanju 干珠 lit. "ebb jewel" and manju 満珠 lit. "flow jewel" combine kan 干 (cf. 乾) "dry up; drain off; ebb (tides); recede; oppose" and man 満 "fill; full; rise (tides); fulfill; satisfy" with ju, shu, or tama 珠 "gem; jewel; precious stone; pearl; bead". Compare the reversible compounds kanman 干満 and mankan 満干 or michihi 満ち干 meaning "ebb and flow; high and low tides; the tides". Shiomitsu-tama 潮満珠 and shiohiru-tama 潮干珠 are archaic "tide jewel" names using shio or chō 潮 "tide; flow; salt water".

Early references
Two Nara period (710-794 CE) historical texts record myths that the Sea God presented the kanju and manju to Hoori, and a Kamakura period (1192-1333 CE) text says the legendary Empress Jingū used the tide jewels to conquer a Korean kingdom in 200 CE.

The tide jewels
are central to "The Lost Fishhook" legend about the fisherman Hoderi and hunter Hoori, two brothers who argued over replacing a lost fishhook. Hoori went searching to the bottom of the sea, where he met and married Toyotama-hime, the daughter of the dragon Sea God. After living three years in the undersea Ryūgū-jō 竜宮城 "dragon palace castle", Ryūjin presented Hoori with his brother's fishhook and the tide jewels, and arranged for him to take his sea-dragon bride back to land.

Kojiki
The ca. 680 CE Kojiki 古事記 "Record of Ancient Matters" uses the archaic names shiomitsu-tama 潮満珠 "tide-flowing jewel" and shiohiru-tama 潮干珠 "tide-ebbing jewel" in two consecutive passages.
The first describes the sea-god's advice to Hoori about how to confront his duplicitous brother Hoderi.

Nihongi
The ca. 720 CE Nihon shoki 日本書紀 "Chronicles of Japan" or Nihongi日本紀 has several references to tide jewels.

..... Empress Jingū found a Buddhist nyoi-ju 如意珠 lit. "as-one-wishes jewel",
Mizukagami
The ca. 1195 CE Mizukagami 水鏡 "Water Mirror", which is a collection of historical tales, confabulates the Nihongi legends about the tide jewels and Jingū conquering the Koreans (Bassett 1885:74). This text uses some different names, Sāgara 沙竭羅 (one of the 8 Dragon Kings) for the Sea God, and Koryo 句麗 or Koma 蓋馬 for the Korean kingdom Goguryeo.

Simple Explanation :

these two jewels have opposite effect like yin and yang are part of same body

Kanju - ebb jewel it has ability to recede ,dry ,pull back or drain a tide
Manju - flowing jewel it has ability to raise the tides

Gist from the Nihongi "Chronicles of Japan"
Legend says that the Empress of Japan, Jingu, once decided to take over Korea. To help her in her conquest, she sent one of her servants into the nether realms to talk to the Dragon King. She wanted the tide jewels, two relics forged by the Dragon King, which controlled the very seas themselves. He granted the Empress’s request and, with the aid of the relics, they took over Korea. When the invasion was over, she cast the jewels back into the sea, returning them to the Dragon King.

MY THEORY :
These jewels are have opposite force and stable only when they together
like yin and yang

İmage

and in scientific terms like the two poles of magnet

İmage

this bring us to next part

Mystery of Grandline
The Grand Line is the ocean current that is surrounded by the Calm Belts and follows an imaginary line that runs from north-west to south-east across the middle of the world and perpendicular to the Red Line. The Red Line is a vast continent that circles the globe from north-east to south-west. These two lines divide the rest of the Blue Sea into the Blues: North Blue, East Blue, West Blue, and South Blue
Now what happens when we bring the two opposites pole of magnets in close proximity

İmage

according to my theory
kanju and manju are like opposite poles of magnets kept at a distance but as they very power full they create a very strong magnetic field
leading to creation grandline

İmage

Normal compasses do not work on the Grand Line because of the nature of its magnetic fields. In order to navigate the Grand Line, a special compass called a 'Log Pose' must be used. The Log Pose works by locking on to one island's magnetic field and then locking on to another island's magnetic field.
due to presence of kanju and manju on the opposite sides of grandline magnetic field is created effecting the islands in it

and their power leads to constant chaos in ocean of grandline
rise and fall of waves
chaotic climate in grandline
this strong force which created grandline also lead to of clam belt as force was so strong in grandline
leading to lack of winds and tides in clam belt

Location of kanju and manju in one piece universe

İmage

Yes they are Raftel and Mariejois

İmage

as u can see reverse mountain are opposite to mariejois
if we see earth as an giant magnet it'll like

İmage

why mariejois u say one piece was treasure of ancient kingdom which world govt stole in void century atlest a part of it
thats why world govt is so afraid of mention of one piece bcoz they afraid its true power
whitebeard aslo mentions it in marineford

İmage
İmage

Doffy also mention a treasure in mariejois although many people think its Uranus i dont think so
doffy understood its power but not to full extent

İmage
İmage

now joy boy in void century hide the other part of treasure and hide it raftel and created the grandline so that world govt couldn't have their hands on it but story of joy boy i m saving it another theory

Roger's Failure

one who obtains one piece will have power over sea and ocean and will able to control of all ocean the pirate king
roger conquers the grandline and reached raftel and obtained other part of treasure and named it one piece
now what makes different from other yonkos is not because he had more military might or not because he finished journey to grandline
its because he held power equivalent to world govt
world govt held who one part of treasure symbolizes justice
and roger held other part of treasure symbolizes injustice -pirate king

why did roger failed and disbanded is group ?

as much as powerful roger pirates were they at lest 1 ancient weapon and one piece
roger lacked one thing that luffy has ability to make allies
according to me a part will of D also is to unite the old nakama/allies
unable to fullfill promise to mermaid princess
roger knew he wasnt the one who will bring down the world Govt
hence he disbanded his crew and got captured to pass along the message to his successor

Conclusion :what will happen if two pieces are brought together ?

the grandline will disappear
weather and sea will return to its original form
and clam belt will disappear too
and luffy will be king of all of sea

thanks to those who read till the end
hope u like

Type: Manga
Chapters: 201
Original Run: September '05 - January '15
Genre: Drama/Thriller/Mystery
Written By: Shinobu Kaitani

Story: 8/10
The story in Liar Game is pretty damn good, the first volume is a little underwhelming, but that's only the first one, the second one was amazing imo, it starts getting really good when they begin the actual Liar Game.

Characters: 8/10
Generally speaking I like the characters in Liar Game, maybe it's just me but Nao get's on my nerves quite a lot, especially when she starts harping on about trust, I much prefer Shinichi who has a pretty dark back-story and understandable motivations, most of the antagonists are pretty interesting too

Art: 8/10
The art in Liar Game is good for the most part, I found it a little weird that Shinichi's hair colour and style changed quite a lot but that's likely down to the changing art style of the Mangaka, all in all though he has a pretty clean art style.

Synopsis:
The story essentially revolves around Nao Kanzaki, a schoolgirl who is annoyingly honest, she receives a package containing 100 million yen and a note stating that she's a contestant in the 'Liars Game', the object of which is to steal money from the other contestants, with the contestants taking the money lost on as a personal debt, she meets the secondary protagonist very early on when her money is stolen.

My Rating: 88/100
I thought Liar Game was kinda weird when I first read it, and it actually took me a while to get fully into it, i dropped it first time after about 30 chapters then picked it up again about a year later, though the concept isn't hugely original I still found a lot of it very smart and enjoyable and often wondered how other smart manga characters would do in a lot of the situations.

If you're planning on reading it, please share your thoughts with us. And if you've already watched it, what'd you think of it? Would you recommend it to others?

Type: Manga
Chapters: 89
Status: Finished
Original Run: 1997-2009
Genre: Horror/Science Fantasy/Alternate History
Written By: Kouta Hirano

Story: 9/10
The story of Hellsing is awesome, it involves a group called 'Hellsing' who hunt the undead and other supernatural forces on behalf of the Queen of England, it then goes into a showdown between them and a neo-nazi group with plans to remake the third reich with vampires, though they have other objectives that at first are hidden

Characters: 10/10
The cast of characters in Hellsing are magnificent, though the morality of most is sketchy, you still grow to like them, particularly Alucard, but the supportting cast is also awesome, Hellsing & The Vatican & Millenium all have their share of badass characters

Art: 9/10
The art in Hellsing is spectacular, I've spent so long looking at some of the panels it's ridiculous, it's so stylish it's almost silly and often Alucard is drawn in such a menacing way it gives me chills, all in all the art in Hellsing is top notch Thumbs Up

Synopsis: Vampires exist. It is the duty of Hellsing, an organization sponsored by the British government, to hide that frightening fact and protect the blissfully unaware populace. Along with its own personal army, Hellsing also has a few secret weapons. Alucard, an incredibly powerful vampire, has been controlled by Hellsing for years. Although he dislikes being a servant to the Hellsing family, he certainly enjoys his job as Hellsing’s vampire exterminator. Seras is a fledgling vampire and a former police woman. Although reluctant to embrace her new self, she is still a valuable member of the organization. Integra Hellsing, the current leader, is usually fully capable of fulfilling her duty, but lately, vampire activity has been on the rise. Unfortunately, the cause is more alarming than anything she could have imagined. A group long thought dead has been plotting in secret since their apparent destruction over 50 years ago. Plotting to plunge England, and perhaps the entire world, into war

My Rating: 95/100
Hellsing will always have a special place in my heart, I've always had a bit of a fascination with horror and gore and I think Hellsing does it better than just about anything else, the amount of times I have reread it is a testament to how awesome I think it is

The Perfect Setup? Sanji & Zoro

$
0
0
Okay, to begin this thread, I'll start with some backgrounds.

As of lately, the past OP chapters has revealed a lot to us. That is including the Shogun of Wano, and lastly the infamous but considered fantasy G66. The shogun of wano is said to be in control of Wano alongside Kaido. We all know what a shogun is, and how strong they can be. So the perfect opponent for Zoro would be Shogun.

On the other hand, we've got G66, the group of assassins that is allied to MAMA. The leader of G66 is none other then Sanjis father. Do you see where am going with this yet? If not keep reading.

Now for the setup, we've got Sanjis father, and the shogun of Wano. For a very long time, a lot of people have been disappointed in the Strawhats strength and how stronger they have to get. Finally I thought of something that might happen and the reason why it is already happening.

The perfect setup for Sanji vs. his father, and Zoro vs. the shogun of Wano. This is the setup that I speak of. I think Oda separated Sanji and Zoro for a reason for these two yonko fights. In the Big Mom arc, we will finally see how strong Sanji will get to defeat his evil father, I think Sanji will have to beat and surpass his father which will make Sanji really strong! And as for Zoro he will have to surpass the shogun which will be incredibly hard for him.

After these two battles we will have the real strength that we've been seeking from Zoro and Sanji at least. As for Luffy we already know he will have to surpass the yonko themselves.

As for the other straw hats, I do not know their opponents, so we'll see. But most indefinitely we already know these two fights are bound to happen.

So what do you guys think?

Ergo Proxy - Discussion

Description
Ergo Proxy is a science fiction suspense anime television series, produced by Manglobe, directed by Shukō Murase and written by Dai Satō. The anime originally aired from February 25 to August 12, 2006 on the WOWOW satellite network, lasting 23 episodes. It is set in a future where humans and AutoReivs androids coexist peacefully until a virus gives them self-awareness. The robots then rebel and commit a series of murders. Inspector Re-L Mayer is assigned to investigate. She discovers there is a more complicated plot behind it that involves humanoid species known as 'Proxy' who are the subject of government secret experiments. The series, which is heavily influenced by philosophy and Gnosticism, features a combination of 2D digital cel animation, 3D computer modeling, and digital special effects. After its release in Japan, the anime was licensed for a DVD release by Geneon Entertainment USA, with a subsequent broadcast on Fuse TV. The show was also distributed to Australian, British and Canadian anime markets. Since its release, Ergo Proxy has received mostly favorable reviews which praised its visuals and themes.

Spoiler: Plot
The story begins in a futuristic domed city called Romdeau, built to protect its citizens after a global ecological disaster thousands of years prior. In this utopia, humans and androids known as AutoReivs coexist peacefully under a total management system. A series of murders committed by robots and AutoReivs infected with the Cogito virus (which causes them to become self-aware) begins to threaten the delicate balance of Romdeau's social order. Behind the scenes, the government has been conducting secret experiments on a mysterious humanoid life form called a "Proxy." The Proxy beings (described as almighty, god-like, immortal, omnipotent) are believed to hold the very key to the survival of humanity. Re-L (pronounced /riːˈɛl/ or "Ree-EL"; also represented by the spelling "R.E.A.L." in the Romdeau citizen database) Mayer is assigned to investigate some of the murders with her AutoReiv partner, Iggy. She encounters two unknown and highly powerful creatures. She later learns that a Proxy was involved. The other central character, an immigrant named Vincent Law, is revealed to be connected in some ways with this Proxy. After being hunted down, Vincent lives in a commune on the outside of the dome for a while. During the massacre of the commune by Raul Creed of the Security Bureau, Vincent leaves the area for Mosk, his birthplace, in an attempt to recover his memories. Re-L later rejoins him to try to discover the truth behind the Proxies and the domes. It is revealed among other things that domes are all created by Proxies as well as the people inhabiting them who are created in special incubators. In the Romdeau arcology, the government is divided between several entities: the Intelligence Bureau, the Health & Welfare Bureau, and the Security Bureau, are named in the series, all under the control of an Administrator who is referred to as the "Regent" and grandfather of "R.E.A.L." The primary AutoReiv types are referred to as either 'Companion' or 'Entourage,' depending on their role. There are others designed for leisure or combat functions; AutoReivs seem to be constructed of varying degrees of cybernetic complexity, as witnessed by AutoReivs on occasion producing blood splatter when shot and killed. The humans in the city are grown in artificial wombs but are still biologically related to their ancestors. Numerous times throughout the series it is stated that the humans living in the domes have no capacity to reproduce naturally, or at least that's what they have been told. Likewise, when a new person is grown, they are done so to fulfill a specific purpose, thus ensuring that person's future-place in society through a "raison d'être" (i.e., a "reason for existence").

Shokugeki no Souma has been around for more than three years now and we've got 17 volumes so far. We've seen loads of characters over the 6 story arcs and the ongoing 7th arc.

As with every other series there are both good and bad things about it.

Good/Like: I like that the series has loads of interesting characters and so far every other arc has been interesting story wise. Also the artwork is great.

Bad/Dislike: I hate that certain interesting characters don't get enough screentime and importance storywise( Eg: Akira Hayama).

So what do you like/love Shokugeki no Souma ? What is something you hate/dislike ?

Spoiler: Plot
Blade of the Immortal follows the deeds of Manji, a skilled samurai who has a decisive advantage: no wound can kill him, except for a rare poison. In the past, his criminal actions led to the death of 100 other samurai (including his sister's husband). He becomes immortal at the hand of an 800-year-old nun named Yaobikuni, and is compelled by the death of his sister to accept the quest that will end his agelessness. He has vowed to make amends by killing 1000 evil men, and until he does Manji will be kept alive by "sacred bloodworms" (血仙蟲 kessen-chū?), remarkable creatures that allow him to survive nearly any injury and reattach severed limbs even after hours of separation. They work by sacrificing themselves to seal the wound - they're worms that were bred to be as close in their chemical and physical make-up to humans as you can get without being human. They cannot handle regrowth on a large scale, but, for example, can reattach a severed limb or seal a hole in the brain. Manji crosses paths with a young girl named Asano Rin and promises to help her avenge her parents, who were killed by a cadre of master swordsmen led by Anotsu Kagehisa. Anotsu killed Rin's father and his entire dōjō, making them a family of outcasts. Anotsu's quest is to gather other outcasts and form an extremely powerful new dojo, the Ittō-ryū (a school teaching any technique that wins, no matter how exotic or underhanded), and has started taking over and destroying other dojos. In addition, another group calling itself the Mugai-ryū has emerged, in opposition to the Ittō-ryū. Its true leadership and motives are initially a mystery, but its methods (any tactics that leads to victory) resemble those of the Ittō-ryū. They try to enlist Manji's help as they seem to want the same thing. Eventually Manji joins but quickly pulls out after he finds out a member, Shira, is way too sadistic for his tastes. After a while Manji finally discovers that the Mugai-ryū work for the government. They are all death row inmates who are allowed to live only if they serve the shogunate. While Manji and Shira quickly grow to hate each other, after Shira runs off, Manji remains on friendly terms with the other members of the group. In a broader context, the series covers the effects of death and the consequences of not being able to die, as well as the meanings behind living. Most of the principal characters have some sort of purpose which they inexplicably discover through the events that transpire.
