Story: 9½/10
The story in BERSERK is it's strong point, the first 13 or so chapters are essentially character building and a set-up to showing you what drives Guts, and it's after this point that the true BERSERK starts.
Characters: 9/10
The manga features more characters than I can remember, the hero is a true badass but the endless villains are equally so, and my god there are a lot of them, each with great character design that often send chills down my spine
Art: 10/10
BERSERK is in my opinion the best looking manga I have ever read, Miura's work is so detailed it's mindblowing, so many of the panels make my jaw drop and it just gets better and better with every chapter, that's probably part of the reason it can take him so goddamn long to release chapters
Synopsis:
BERSERK is an epic, dark fantasy manga that follows Guts, a swordsman in a medieval setting. Guts' journey takes him through a stunningly detailed world brimming with bloody battlefields, demonic creatures, and political deceit in a world on the brink of collapse. BERSERK pulls no punches. It is certainly not for the faint of heart or mind. Be prepared to see intestines and grey matter fly when Guts unleashes his Dragon Slayer, a giant, 6-foot-long "sword".
My Rating: 96/100
BERSERK means a hell of a lot to me as a manga, it's the first one I ever read and it will probably always be my favourite, I get so happy when I see a new chapter released, the story is something I can and often do discuss for hours with Spoon and I'll be so happy when Miura starts to show us the bigger picture, also it inspired a lot of my favourite game of all time, Dark Souls.
