En was appointed as a liaison in Shin's village by Heki, he was a coward and didn't have passion of battles.
En is now a lieutenant in the 8000 men Hi Shin Unit, although he is not that skilled of a fighter, En shows great spirit in battle and inspires normal soldiers in battle as we've seen his major role in the victory of Hi Shin Unit in Kanki's right army wing during the battle of Rigan after Shin believed in En and gave him the mission to cross the river where the water current made it hard for even a skilled fisherman to reach the other bank.
