Which characters are overrated / underrated in terms of their Haki skill?
Characters like Vergo, Enel, Ace, and old Whitebeard are often heavily debated in Haki discussion, both over- and underrated:
Haki Skill |
- Vergo is often used as measuring character for strong Arm. Haki, yet Law, who showed no strong Haki onscreen himself, actually defeated him. That defeat is often ignored when talked about Vergo's "awesome" fullbody Arm. Haki. - Enel is often listed for his extremely skilled Obs. Haki, while many forget his DF actually boosts his Obs. Haki. So the skill of his Haki itself is not thaaaat great. - Ace, an extremely gifted young man, son of Gold Roger, who sailed the New World under WB himself for 2-3 years and possessed Conq. Haki, is still believed, by some, to have not had Arm. Haki, simply because he didn't show it at a time when pretty much no one showed Haki in the series. I don't need to point out how unreasonable that is. - WB failed to use Haki, all 3 types, in multiple incidents during the MF War. He failed to use Arm. Haki vs. Aokiji, he failed with his Obs. Haki vs. Squard, he failed with his Conq. Haki when Ace was about to be executed (lucky for him, Luffy unconsciously stepped in). Yet there is no doubt that WB is a great Haki user, or rather: Was a great Haki user... Old WB? Not so much. (Often overlooked in Old WB battle threads, though he was definitely handicapped by his illness.) |
Just to list a few examples.
