I have been wondering for a while now, why did Oda plan this Whole Cake Island Arc before the battle with Kaido and Wano Arc?
I mean he could have done that after they defeated Kaido and then bring in the Arc with Big Mom as Sanji is forced to marry Pudding. At first I thought okay, maybe it's cause it would be too late for him to make this Arc if it's after the fight with Kaido so I didn't think much of it.

Then it hit me, Luffy and the others may have a chance to win against the Beast Pirates and the Wano Shogun, but there's no way in hell they can defeat Kaido himself. He is way too powerful for their level. Even Kidd, along with Hawkins and Apoo lost to Kaido alone. There's no way Luffy and Law together can beat him. Even if all 5 Supernovas of the Worst Generation come together, they would still lose to Kaido.

Apparently nobody has ever defeated him in a 1-on-1. Even if all the Worst Generation (excluding BB) came at him all at once, at their current level they are no match. Naturally same goes for Big Mom. In this Arc, we are pretty sure how this will not be a decisive battle against the Big Mom Pirates and it's evident that they'll have to face her once again even if they manage to run away from her. So, what's the purpose of this arc? Is it just to take back Sanji from them? Is that all?

Now take a look here:
İmage

A huge army of Big Mom Pirates who have really high Bounties. They might be the ones who Luffy has to defeat this time in order to run away from Whole Cake Island. The battle between Luffy and this Army may have come to a conclusion, but I think they have to face this Army once again. Facing these strong opponents might power him up in preparation for the war against Kaido. Luffy already defeated a Commander of the Big Mom Pirates Cracker (with Nami's help), so I we can't say facing the army again is impossible, if they decide to run away.

Luffy will defeat Kaido in a 1-on-1. There are two reasons why I think he'll defeat him in a 1-on-1:
  1. Kaido has yet to be defeated in a 1-on-1 (according to the narration) and thus Luffy will be the one who defeat him.
  2. Luffy always fights the enemy alone when it comes to a final showdown (Mingo for example; which is by no means a good thing). Ofc, I didn't say Kaido will be in top shape when he fights Luffy, there's no way Luffy can beat him if he's in full strength.

The fact remains unchanged that Luffy at his current level is no match for Kaido and to make him stronger is another purpose of this Whole Cake Arc. What do you guys think? Could Oda be thinking to make Luffy stronger before he fight against Kaido?

Please note that this is just a speculation and nothing more. I don't have any definite proof of regarding this idea.
