I finished reading Vento Aureo for the first time not to long ago and i'm left with many questions (as i'm sure everyone was) most of which have to do with Doppio who has become my favorite jojo character so far. The most pressing question I have has to do with wether or not Epitaph belongs to Doppio.
During the fight with Silver Chariot Requiem it is shown that Diavolo and Doppio have separate souls. Stands are the manifestation of a souls power and therefore King Crimson belongs solely to Diavolo. This leaves Doppio without any powers but during his fight with Risotto, Diavolo gives him the power of Epitaph which allows him to see 10 seconds into the future. Now it seams that Epitaph is simply a part of King Crimson that Diavolo gifted to Doppio, which would simply mean that "no" Doppio doesn't have a stand.
However this doesn't make sense to me because this would mean that King Crimson has even more abilities then we thought (the abilities to transfer his power to another soul and to divide his power into separate parts). Which I dont think Araki intended because King Crimson is already overpowered.
My theory is that Epitaph is a less developed version of King Crimson just like how Doppio is a younger Version of Diavolo. Meaning that Epitaph is in fact Doppio's stand and looks like King Crimson's second face because it has the potential to become the same stand. We know that is is possible for stands to change physical appearance and gain new abilities (i.e echoes and star platinum) as their owners become more experienced), so it would make sense that Diavolo unlocked Doppio's own stand during his battle (Epitaph) which is a stand similar to King Crimson (in the same way that Jonathan and Joseph stands are exactly the same) but he is unable to use it properly due to inexperiance.
This would also explain why Diavolo didn't just grant Doppio all of King Crimsons power so he could finish of Risotto without a problem keeping them both safe, as it is impossible because he wasn't lending him his power but unlocking his own. Well anyways i'm done rambling hopefully I can hear some of your guys opinions on this.
