Game Of Thrones - Pick Your Kingsguard

Congratulations! You have just become the new King / Queen of the Andals and the First Men, and the Protector of the Realm and the rightful Lord of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. Feels good, doesn't it? Now you need to pick the 7 men or women who will protect your life and obey your every command. You have to choose your 7 based on characters we have seen in the show, and another thing, no flashbacks! That means no Arthur Dayne.

You may use any character, living or dead, no matter what their occupation previously was they are now your loyal Kingsguard. The only thing you need to remember is that you can't choose them "in their prime". You have to choose them how they are portrayed in the show. So if you choose Barristan Selmy, he is old. If you choose Jaime Lannister he has one hand now. If you choose Robert Baratheon he is fat and drunk most of the time.

Here's the format you should follow, to make everything organized and easily readable. The women of the forum should use Queensguard unless you prefer the other option. Here's my Kingsguard as an example:

Stannis was a really easy choice because he's the greatest tactical leader and strategist we have seen by far. His downfall was Melisandre and her amazing advice, so without her I think he thrives and puts my Kingsguard on an entirely new level of excellence. Not to mention we see him fight off multiple men at once, so he's absolutely capable in a sword fight. Sandor because of his ruthlessness, and Gregor for his sheer size and power. I would have taken Robert even in his current state, but I think his drinking would have gotten in the way. Oberyn Martell was an easy choice for his mastery with poison. Drogo was also an easy choice given that he had been fighting and killing since he was a child and has never lost a fight even through countless wars. I was thinking of putting either Bronn or Brienne on here, but in the end Jon Snow made the cut because of his Season 6 improvements. Take a look at the Battle of the Bastards and you know exactly why he made the cut.

You can, or should, post a reason for why you chose these members at the bottom of your list as well so we can get a feel for why you think they deserve to be your bodyguards until your timely death at the age of 101. But keep in mind, that's optional.
